Wellfleet Sea Salt – Early winner of the Friedrich Business Plan Competition. Hope Schwartz-Leeper and Zachary Fagiano founded Wellfleet Sea Salt Company while in their junior year at Skidmore College. The couple entered the Kenneth A. Freirich 2011-2012 Business Plan Competition and won seed money to start Wellfleet Sea Salt Company. A few years later the business has expanded, now boasting 3 large custom-built evaporators. Hope and Zak continue to make eco-friendliness a foundation of Wellfleet Sea Salt Company, always looking for greener solutions. They have attended numerous farmers’ markets throughout the Cape Cod region, as well as local events including the 2014 Wellfleet OysterFest. Their offerings now include several flavored salts and blends, all made using their natural, pure Wellfleet Sea Salt.
